Walking into a Winter Wonderland

by • October 28, 2016 • Entertainment, November 2016

A typical winter wonderland may not be the easiest to find here in sunny Orange County, yet many may not be aware of the little winter oasis that exists at The Rinks. While carving down a snowy mountain may be out of the question, finding a cold winter’s wonder upon arrival and entry into one of The Rinks four ice facilities is more than possible.

Craig Appleby, The Rinks Marketing Associate has been with The Rinks and Ducks organization for more than 5 years now. When asked about winter time at The Rinks Appleby had this to say, “Southern California will never be a place tightly associated with winter and the holidays but at The Rinks we really try and make an effort to bring some of that to local residents. Whether it is one of our holiday themed skate nights or the festive decorations that one may see during the holidays, The Rinks really tries to go the extra mile and bring a taste of winter to our temperate Southern California home.”

The Rinks operate four ice facilities across the greater Orange County area: Anaheim ICE, Lakewood ICE, Westminster ICE, and Yorba Linda ICE all with a vast array and programs for local residents to enjoy during the holiday season. Ranging from our public skating, Learn to Skate classes and introductory hockey programs, The Rinks has something for you!

Inline Facilities

The Rinks also has three inline facilities located in Corona, Huntington Beach, and Irvine. Just like the ice facilities, each inline facility offers the same programming – Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey, Hockey Leagues, and Birthdays! They also offer programs such as roller derby and street hockey that aren’t available at The Rinks ice facilities.

Ice Skating

Families and friends are able to come together and can enjoy the excitement and joy of ice skating. If you find yourself slipping and sliding more than skating don’t fret. The Rinks offers Learn to Skate programs that will transition any novice skater into an expert in no time.

Special Events

Throughout the year The Rinks offer special events from tournaments to themed skate nights and even spotlight events designed for homeschool groups. One of The Rinks upcoming holiday events is the annual Holiday Toy Drive Skate on December 17th. Working with the Anaheim Fire Department, new and unwrapped toys, books and games will be collected to benefit the Spark of Love Toy Drive.
